The CCAE (later UC) Maths Day first ran in August 1982 and then ran annually through to 1995 .
The Canberra Maths Association with some UC input and much ANU input rani it in 1996.
It has run each year since at ANU .
The driving force behind the day, and of much else was Peter O'Halloran.
At a meeting of Info Science's staff in 1991 he outlined a day run by George Berszenyi in the USA and suggested we base a day on it with the intention of raising awareness of Mathematics at the college with in the local community.
Administrative and clerical support coming from the staff of the Australian Mathematics Comp.
